I just joined looking for inspiration and new learning. I’ve been playing for 50 years, sometimes professionally. I started the Acoustic Challenge from the beginning and watched about 12 videos. What I’m looking for is to jump in at the right place for my intermediate/advanced skills, but I don’t know the “courses”. Is there a list that I can choose from and jump right into? Kevin

There are not really courses at TAC. Instead there is the daily challenge. Each week there is a new challenge that teaches you one or more skills/techniques. Each week is a new “course”.

Each daily challenge will expose you to new techniques and the idea is to try to play the daily challenge as best you can for 10 mins and then move on. Each challenge repeats every year, so the idea is when it comes around again you will progress a little further.

Given how long you have been playing some of the challenges will not be a challenge at all, but there probably be some challenges that introduce techniques that are new to you. Perhaps it will be palm muting, percussive strumming, accented chords, etc. Hopefully there are things you have not been exposed to before.

Welcome, Like you I am older- 79 and I’m not involved in any other form of social online sites. I’ve played off and on like many of the members and do learn something out of each weekly set of sessions. I doubt if many of the members are as accomplished as you are but we do enjoy the community of wanna be guitar pickers and sharing ideas with each other. I retired and moved from the bay area 4 years ago to the central coast area and do love spending way to much time on trying to improve my playing skills. My technical guitar/music knowledge far surpasses my playing skill. So this course works well for me and helps me develop guitar ideas and has the added benefit of a social outlet with so many people who just enjoy learning to play the instrument.

wanna be pickers keep their guitars in their cases. Tac is a communty of Daily players of varying skills, not wanna be players. Learning yes, wanna be no. Wanna be players don’t last long with the TAC method. The two mindsets are antithetical.

    Welcome Kevin! @focusforwardkevingmail-com
Many TAC members are people in the golden years taking up guitar for the first time. I count myself in this group, having started almost 2 years ago and approaching the 17 month mark with TAC. I’ve tried a bunch of other learning methods, nothing compares to this one. But there are quite a few very accomplished players on here. That’s one of the more unique features is that there is something for everyone here, even though we all see the same daily challenge, the way you approach the content of said challenge will vary greatly depending on your skill and experience level.

The songs that are themed in the challenges are really example songs, and a player like you will probably be able to quickly take some of what Tony shows you and apply them to a number of songs you already know, turning them into entirely new arrangements.
