A large win… Had been very discouraged with the mini-F and Barred F chords. I even posted a while back about my frustration. I had a lot of encouragement from the TAC family. I was using my Taylor GS mini. Bought it new in 22 and figured a $1000 guitar would be ready to play. After spending three years struggling with I bought a string gauge set and noticed the action was very high. I took it to the nearest authorized Taylor repair shop 100 miles away and they did a great job. It was so much easier to play with much less fretting hand fatigue. However, I was still struggling with the F chords. I saw a Yamaha FS800 for sale locally for $150. It was like new so I picked it up. Within a week I could get solid repeatable F chords. So I’m telling myself that maybe the GS mini was too small for me at that stage in my playing. It was that or it was just time because I can now play the F chords on both guitars.

Nicely done there. You may have discovered that all neck shapes are not the same. I wonder if the different shape gave you just enough angle to get over the hump as it were on the Fchord buzz and you fingers did the rest once they got there? Glad the f is in hand now!
