Music theory Q
I’m making some progress in theory, around the Circle of 4ths/5ths,
intervals and triads. My little niggly doubt is my understanding of key
signatures; so…….. if I play a standard F-major barre chord I am
playing in the key of C, because the notes are F, C and A, and the only
major key signature with an unsharped-F is C. But when I play an open
D-chord I am in the key of D because we have A, F# and D, and D is the
root note. Am I on the right lines here? Cheers.
