Third time for this one, after a little more than a year. Finally got the nerve to post one, mistakes and all!

Thanks Pete, compared to my first two versions, my chord changes have become much less choppy! Thanks to Tony!

Thanks Braden! I can play the chords and strum the song, but looking forward to playing someday with style, like your version of Wagon Wheel! Sadly, I’m a long way from being able to strum and sing at the same time. Haven’t been able to do more than single strums while singing.

Thats how i do it also when im singing a new song…one beat/strum per line, thats the best way to learn when and where in the song to change chords. Then once youre good with that do two strums, then four. Get really comfortable with that…and dont forget to practice singing and learning the lyrics separately…goal is to get very comfortable with both the playing and the singing, and then put them together, but like everything takes a lot of practice so small steps/wins…listen to your favourite recording a ton and sing along…i even go over the song in my head when im out walking the dog… youve already got the rhythm down great on your guitar so with lots of repetition you’ll be singing and playing in no time youre doing great man keep on having fun and before you know it you’ll be moving on to the next song and putting a set together!
