My 3-year-old grandson is a huge Tom Petty fan, especially this song. “Runnin’ Down a Dream” is one of Tom Petty‘s most recognizable tunes. “The energetic track has become an inspiring anthem for anyone looking to follow their own ambitions. It is one I like to use to warm up my playing sessions.
Tom Petty (1950-2017) experienced a number of notable hits throughout his career as both a soloist and in partnership with the Heartbreakers. So, there is no consensus as to which single in his discography would be his signature song. So many great ones though: Don’t Do Me Like That, Refugee, Last Dance with Mary Jane, Breakdown and on and on….
Dolly Parton did a beautiful tribute to Tom by singing Southern Accents
