  • Seeking advice on learning slide

Posted by GerryB56 on September 3, 2022 at 8:07 pm

I’ve lately been “going down the rabbit hole” to become fascinated with resonator guitars and slide playing. So today I visited our nearest trusty guitar store and rented myself a lovely Dobro Hounddog resonator, and bought a glass slide to experiment with. If any fellow TACers have some recommendations for learning this style of playing, I’d appreciate hearing from you. I have started working on Tony’s Slide 101 course, and I know there are tons of YouTube videos out there, but hoping some of you veteran slide players can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Hi @GerryB56 , very convenient Il approach to see if you want to commit to buying a Dobro! If you look in the skills courses there is a course focused on the slide guitar. Beyond that I don’t have much advice – I haven’t seriously gone down that rabbit hole yet! 😃
