  • the simple G chord and daily challenges

Posted by brianRP on February 18, 2024 at 7:58 am

Background-just finished the 30 day, as well as the 5 day guitar routine, and now on ‘your next 6 chords. But I have 2 issues-one very basic-do any of the other newbies have an issue getting their fingers in the correct position-consistently for the G chord? I typically start my practice just playing some basic chords -one being the G chord-which I can hit the first time easily-But! when I come back to this same G chord I am unable to position my fingers as accurately as they were on my first attempt-is this typical? I imagine with time this issue will disappear-just curious if any one else has this issue with G?

This next issue should probably have a separate posting-but I wanted to ask-Tony indicates one is ready for the daily challenges after finishing the 30 day and 5 day guitar routine- but when I tried a daily challenge-it was taking me 2 days to attempt to finish!😞-therefore I stopped the daily and returned to ‘learning your next 6 chords’. Will attempt the daily’s again after learning these 6 chords. Thank you all

Concerning the G chord. You are not an outlier. It is common.

But concerning the daily challenges, don’t abandon them. You don’t need to master them. They will come around again and you will be amazed at how they will be easier. Eventually you will think, “oh yes I remember this. I am better .” I’ve had one challenge, Mississippi Mud, that I’ve been working on since COVID. And when it comes around again now, I’m excited that I can ALMOST do it. When I can I’ll record and post it. Some cold wet weekends I’ll pull it up and give it a go but I digress. Just give them whatever your 10 minute best is and move on to have fun.

Thank you Albert! You made my concerns (almost) dissapear! And gave me hope! Thanks again!
