Thumb over hint from a master picker (that’s how you can tell it’s not me)
So I was watching Tommy Emanuel on YouTube demonstrating the thumb over technique for chords. He expressly indicated to drop the guitar neck to a more horizontal position so you can get your thumb around the neck more easily. I play in a kind of classical position which he showed was “wrong “ for this method. I immediately dropped the neck a little and: ZOOM, POW!, it was immediately a little easier. Lesson: sometimes master players know how to do their style (duh). Even though that style is semi heretical for classical it sure helps for blues and rock!
