    The TAB will often have marks that indicate the pick direction.

    For chords you normally strum down on the beat and up on “and” of the beat

    Thanks, I have not seen those marks on the music sheets from Tony. I have those marks on another lesson book I use. Appreciate the input

    If you see this then the second note is an up strum Also when Tony counts and says “1 and 2” the “and” is an up strum.

    Some of these basics he never really covers and you have to sorta pick up yourself.

    Thanks, that’s one of the things I look at and sometimes the second up stroke shows as a shorter chord but not always, it would be nice if he used the v and upside down v that some books use

    I wish the TABs were more consistently featured. Some (very few) show the down and up symbols. Some have the chord shapes but many do not.
