    Monday – Dogwood Flowers:

Hammer-ons slightly easier closer to the nut. Pull offs generally went better on the D string vs the G string because the string is thicker and has more to grab onto. Surprisingly I didn’t struggle too much with ring and middle fingers as I thought I might; in fact the pull-offs were almost better on the weak fingers while the hammer-ons were not as strong. But I couldn’t play along with the PLAY video, it was going too fast and I was struggling to remember which finger was going to be next in line to do the fretting and which fret. Even slowing down to 1/2 speed, I would lose it by the time I got to the middle finger part.

Today I was not able to maintain solid rhythmic accuracy throughout this challenge, also I am not able to play with consistent volume, some of hammer-ons and pull-offs are louder than others.

    Tuesday – Rock Me:

My index finger hurts from yesterday’s pull offs. Had to take it easy today, so only did the first 4 measures. I find the timing interesting on this challenge.
Update: Came back to it in the evening and it’s not too hard to play the individual measures, but I find it hard to play through, my timing gets thrown off and I don’t know where I am in the progression. This looks very simple but it gives me all kinds of fits. I switched to my electric guitar and the hammer-ons and pull-offs are so much easier. The strings are also much kinder to my fingers.

Pull offs really coming along for me, and the pinky is finally waking up.
