    Someone with more music theory in their brain please correct me if my conclusion is inaccurate but it seems to fit. My terminology is probably very disjointed from real music theory, but I realized after some time that the downstrokes are on quarter notes or front end of 8th note and the upstrokes are on the backend of 8th notes. You can discern 8th notes by their tails or by the tether (connecting line) to previous note.

    I wish I had captured 3 lines instead of just 2 because it stops abruptly but I think I have the strumming direction correct below. I’m showing up arrows only for upstrokes, everything else is down :

    That is the general rule of pick direction. Down on the quarter note (down beat) and up on the & note. (upbeat). Great win. There are lots of times when one may break that general rule like with select cross-picking patterns but you hav3 a good “small” win.
