  • Wind and rain confusion

Hi Folks. I’m confused about the arpeggios on the Wind and rain thing from yesterday. I get it that an arpeggio is playing the notes of a chord separately. But I am not sure what Tony means by wanting us to play along with the chord progression. It seems like he is moving on to the next chord too soon, or too late or something. Are we just playing the notes to the G chord until we move to the D chord or how is this supposed to work. oi! On the bright side, I could play the melody by ear with the chord progression. But I don’t get the arpeggio thing.

    Hi Lolli

Do you mean the Wednesday improvisation?

The idea is to use the notes from the scales given and improvise a melody over the chords from the backing track. Just by selecting any notes that you feel would go along within the chords played. It doesn’t have to be the sequence in the order of the scales, but rather an improvised melody.

If you like you could do a search and check the various improvs from people who have posted on the forum just to get an idea
