Does it matter if you are making money or not? I thought as long as you didnt profit from their work it wasnt a problem.

Im glad you posted a comment here because i wanted to tell you that while recording it made me think of you. After hearing your version of Country Roads a few weeks ago I think that you absolutely should do a “your version” of this song. Your style plus thing song would be a great match

There seems to be about one years worth of lessons that repeats every new year . I’m finding it interesting how the first time around half these exercises were impossible the other half too hard. It was hard enough just to memorize the 2 bars worth of notes let alone play it. This time around I can play most of them in real time as i read it off the screen

It occurs around 1:20 in the real song i linked

Its hard to play a dread sitting on the edge of my couch so i use a parlor single 0 for that scenario aka “couch guitar”. In the basement music room i have a computer desk roller chair type that has no arms which is great for the larger dread guitar.
Also check out a seat called Ergo Ergo which isnt for guitar specifically but works great
When i first got an acoustic (dreadnaught) it used to leave a red crease in my chest from leaning against it to long while trying to look around the corner at what im doing. Lol

Use the three finger G in songs where you switch to a C chord and the 4 finger for songs where you switch to a D chord.

The number one thing that I needed to learn that no one ever mentions is how lightly you need to hit the strings. When they say “brush the strings” it’s literally like how hard a paintbrush would go across the strings.
If your cords are buzzing it’s not necessarily your fretting hand it could be that you’re just smashing the strings too hard. The lighter you strum the less pressure is required to hold the strings down without buzzing.
Strumming sounds best when you’re just barely catching the strings with the tip of the pick playing with the minimal amount of impact force on the string possible possible. This leaves room to go up in volume instead of already being at max volume the entire song
As Beavis and Butthead once explained every song has to have a part that sucks so that you have contrast to let you know when it’s the part that rocks

Making yourself do something that you’re not ready for is how you get there. Always try new things outside your skill level. If you only do things within your skill level you just go in circles.

It was an easy one that i have been thinking about doing for awhile. I think i got it in less than 30 takes lol you can probably hear how tired i sound trying to sing when i finally got a good one.
