What I’m saying is when you go up and pitch you’re actually going down the strings and when you go down in pitch you’re going up the strings. Everything’s kind of laid out backwards

It’s kind of annoying to get used to but that seems to be the way everyone does it. And then when they start talking about walk downs that are actually going up the strings and walk ups that are actually going down the strings…

I use an app called ultimate guitar that has almost every song known to mankind of every genre.
It usually has multiple versions of every song in tab as well as chord/lyric form.
You just simply favorite which ones you like and it puts them in your folder for storage. You can also record a 30 second clip of yourself playing this song. It is interesting to watch other peoples 30 second clips to see what style or rhythm method they chose to play it in for ideas
The app is free but it’s worth paying extra to get the auto scroll feature.

For those that don’t know Tommy is probably the greatest living acoustic guitar player. He mentions that he has to refresh and review before a show if he hasnt played that one lately, even if it’s a song he’s been playing for 30 years because no one can remember that many songs.

Me too. After 3 years of use I now only use the forums. The site was great to get over the learning hump but there is nothing here for once you make it to the other side.

Thank you Lorraine. A lot of times I feel like I’m hearing a lot of squeaking and buzzing from my perspective but then when I play it back from the microphones perspective it sounds better than I thought it would but then again other times it sounds worse lol

I keep mine out but use a room humidifier as well as dehumidifier in the summer. As long as you can control the room its not a problem.
If the wood hasnt cracked you may be able to rehydrate it. Wood only cracks from drying not the opposite. The trick is to make the changes slowly. I would toss the sponge humidifier and get the D’darrio packs that regulate both ways and keep it in the case for awhile.

In that price range I would buy a Yamaha FG 830 which is probably only about half of your budget

You probably just need to build a little finger strength. Every new chord is a position you have never in your life asked your hands to try to make before. Keep doing what you’re doing and it should get better over time- slowly. A year from now you’ll look back and forget it was ever hard

I bought a core trainer desk chair thing on amazon called ErgoErgo that is great for guitar. Its basically a springy stool type of chair that adjusts with air pressure
I also bought a chair on guitarcenter.com that is basically a computer roller chair without arms that is great too is you want something with a back. Great if you do you guitar stuff on a desktop computer

Whether or not you use a capo the chord is always named after whatever the note is on the thickest string. For example if you make a G shaped chord at the fifth fret of the E string the fifth fret is an A note whether or not you have a capo.

I can tell you that when I record from my iPad I have no audio when i play back the recording until I unplug the microphone because it thinks the microphone is a set of headphones plugged in
-
Have you ever seen the Tommy Emmanuel version?

What was the “significant number”?
