Why I'm Here

I am an active duty US Air Force Chaplain – I play guitar as a hobby but also sometimes for my job when deployed in the field. My work playing is usually just chords & capo with the most difficult thing being a barre “F” or “B” chord. At home I tackle fingerstyle guitar. Back in the 90’s I did beginning classical guitar with Brad Carlton (Brad has taught for Guitar player magazine, TrueFire.com and been around for years. He taught local students in Tampa Bay area). He introduced me to fingerstyle guitar.

Why Tony's Challenge? I've been at the "advanced novice – lower intermediate" level for way too long! I need to move into a more advanced level. I gravitate toward fingerstyle guitar (attempted classical lessons in 1990's) Now after years of playing simple open chords (& the occasional barre chord), I want to improve my solo fingerstyle abilities. Need some discipline in my studies.

My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

Now that I am retired I want to return to regular playing and practice. I’d like to not only get back to where I was before life got too busy five years ago – but I’d like to surpass my previous “best.”

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

In a perfect week I will pick up the guitar 5 out of 7 days and play for at least a half hour. I pretty much just play at home in my practice area or on my screened back porch area. (I live in Florida so can do that quite a bit!)
