| This is How I TAC |
IN A PERFECT WEEK, I will play 5 days, M thru F, or sometimes more when practicing to play guitar at church. Â I’ve been a TAC member for over a year now, since February 2020. Â The pandemic really threw me and extreme sadness distanced me from my guitar. So 3/4 into last year’s membership, I frantically played catch up. Â Once I got caught up, I started sliding again, skipping days at a time, and building a lessons backlog, I didn’t know any better because I hadn’t established the routine. Â It’s a lot less stressful to commit to the 10-min Tony M-F. Â Fridays feel really great having accomplished these 5 little wins in the middle of the week. Â Actually it’s a huge win that took me a whole year to achieve. Â My routine isn’t super tight, but has improved dramatically. Â With one year experience in TAC, I can attest that playing a little each day is the key to getting better and enjoying the guitar journey. Â Breaking tasks into small chunks is so liberating. Â I feel in control and know in my gut that any small task I do, in guitar and elsewhere, is progress and enjoyable. Â I play morning, afternoon, or evening is WHEN I PLAY. Â By evening, if I still haven’t completed the daily lesson, then it’s the evening. Â WHERE I PLAY GUITAR is in our ‘computer’ room where I view Tony’s daily lessons, print the Tabs and store my guitar on a stand. Â I also continue to play my old songs from childhood! Â Occasionally I’ve doctored them up with skills I’ve learned in TAC. Right now I play the 5th Sunday in my church, which is once every 3 or 4 months. Â So my routine also includes practicing the church music standbys, and finding new songs to play.
