Why I'm Here

I’ve always wanted to play the guitar and over the years have taken lessons from various instructors only to let life get busy and get in the way. I’ve been a dabbler and I usually find I have to start all over after being away from it.  I’m really enjoying TAC. I find it’s been easier to find that elusive practice time following the helpful hints from the program. I’ve always just played for my own self enjoyment. I’d be that guy in they guitar shop that’s quiet about strumming on the guitars and not looking to draw attention to myself. I’m petrified of playing in front of others.  I just really enjoy music and can really relax when I sit back to practice.

A couple of years ago, when I found TAC, my wife encouraged me to join and really begin to move past being a dabbler. My wife always encouraged my playing, especially in the bedroom at the end of the day where she could listen and relax prior to falling asleep. This past year has been a challenge as we began cancer treatments for my wife, Tara.

After fighting cancer for a year, my bride of 26 years lost her battle. I have found TAC and my guitars have been extremely important in helping me manage through the struggle. I’ve gotten a little out of control with guitar acquisitions but have slowed down now. I easily play for an hour everyday.

My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

My goal for the next 3 months is to focus 10 minutes everyday on the daily challenge. During this time I want to continue to improve chord transition with clean, clear tone.

I also have set a goal to complete the fretboard wizard.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

In a perfect week, I find a minimum of 10 minutes to focus on the current daily challenge and then move onto review the previous weeks challenges.

I set aside time every night at the end of the day after all of those things that consume our daily lives. This provides me with a relaxing way to let go of all of the daily stress and really let go and enjoy the music, clunkers and all.

My guitars used to be located in my home office but I’ve setup a guitar/music area right off of the living room where I can see them easily. This makes it easy to set an intention as Tony identified. I don’t have a notebook yet as my intention is simply to work on the daily challenge, review previous challenges and then work on fingerstyle. The focus is tone and technique.
