| This is How I TAC |
I have only been playing for about the past 3 years. My playing and routine has improved over the past year with TAC I try to play every day. Sometimes it only works out to 5-6 times on TAC per week. I go to my brother’s house about every 2 weeks on Sunday afternoon and we play and sing for 2-3 hours. He typically plays the bass and I get on the acoustic. We take turns picking the music we want to play.
I also go to a friends house almost every Saturday and I bring TAC lessons from the week or whatever I am currently working on, and we work on those for a half hour or so and then we pick some songs to play, either from our collection or from something we’ve heard and want to try. We download the tab from online (Ultimate Guitar) and learn the song – we will pull up the song on youtube and listen to it and strum along so we get the rhythm then play it by ourselves. We typically play for 4-5 hrs per session. The time flies and we have so much fun.
During the week I typically head to my guitar room (also known as my office) after dinner, around 7:00-7:30 pm and go through the daily challenge first for about 20 minutes. After that I try to work on technique and other challenges that I am currently working on and work to improve my barre chords and playing off the tips of my fingers. I try to wrap up playing by 9:00 pm and start winding down for the day.
I know my routine will change a little once I am able to get my vegetable garden in and have to do the lawn care. When that happens my play time will shift back to after the sun goes down.
I don’t get to play every single day of the week but I try. On a bad day I may only get in 20-30 minutes of the daily challenge. I know I will stay inspired, so I signed up for the lifetime subscription to TAC. I am having a blast playing.
