| Why I'm Here |
I’m an off-on-off-on intermediate player for many years. I started in middle school, playing w/ a school ensemble, and then my interest waned during the ensuing several decades. I picked it up again around 2004. I’m mostly self-taught and play by ear. I’m most interested in learning folk/blues/pop songs from the 60’s and 70’s. I am here at TAC to pick up on some skills and improve my playing. I have tried flatpicking but I’m much better at fingerpicking. I have played out occasionally at local bluegrass jams. It’s a lot of fun! My favorite guitarists are Etta Baker, Libba Cotten, Joni Mitchell, Muriel Anderson, Mississippi John Hurt, and Jim Kweskin.
