This can be frustrating to be sure. Early on in my journey or should I say adventure, an experienced player told me to not be distracted by other instruments and focus in on the bass. When the bass changes, that’s the next chord change. That has helped me but don’t know if it will help others. I have a license plate for the front of my car that says “my favorite numbers are 1,4,5 and sometimes 2”
