Why I'm Here

I guess you would consider me an older beginner.  As a teen I attempted to learn guitar and a couple of friends helped with a few chords and riffs.  It just didn’t stick or may be I didn’t stick with it long enough.  After I was married I tried half heartedly again and got the same results.

Last summer I decided playing guitar was something I really wanted to do.  In my mid 60’s I guess you can say this is my bucket list.  I bought a Yamaha FG700S online and started practicing chords.  I even took a free online course but found it was not exactly what I needed.

Most of my playing will be solo.  Hopefully when I’m comfortable with myself I will play occasionally with my son who is pretty good, but he is very busy at work and doesn’t play much any more. What I really want to be able to do is use a combination of chords and single notes to play a song.   Checking site after site Tony’s comes closest to offering what I want.

I like Bluegrass but I guess I’m more of a country fan.  I hope to be able to take chords from I favorite songs and add my own melody over them.  Progress is slow but hopefully devoting a half hour or more a day will be enough to reach my goal.

My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

My goal for the next 3 months is to develop a habit of playing 5-6 days a week.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

A perfect week would be playing guitar 5-6 days a week for 15 to 20 minutes a day.
