Why I'm Here | . I am here because I always wanted to be a “guitar player” and never did anything about it, and then it ended up on my bucket list…. I started taking lessons in the 8th grade for about a year, then life got in the way…( joined the Air Force at 18 and got married at 19…) In the summer of 2018 I retired from the Fire Department. I started practicing again but I had no direction as to what to do. Thankfully I went on you tube and found TAC! I did the 30 day challenge and I was hooked. Now that I am slowly getting better playing it is taking me to places that I could never imagine. I love finding new sounds, licks, and chords, and especially when I nail a daily lesson. The best part of my playing is that when I practice/play the world goes away. TAC’s daily lessons keeps me grounded every day. I am now starting to practice with more focus and patience instead of just going through the lessons, because I realized that this is not a race and the slower pace really is helping me improve. What I really struggle with is quickly shaping my fingers especially for the C major chord. I also need to improve with my chord transitions and clarity. |

My Guitar Goal
What I'm Focused On Now | My goal for the next 3 months is for quicker finger shapes and clearer chords, once my chords get better I want to learn acoustic #3 from the Goo Goo dolls, which will be a big stretch for me. |
My Guitar Routine
This is How I TAC | 2-3 times a week when I have my breakfast, I get my laptop and notebook and I review/study music theory on you tube for about 10-15 minutes, (longer on weekends). I practice in my finished basement, which is set up just for me and my music. It has a TV, refrigerator full of beer and soda, 2 guitars, (Art and Lutherie and a Ovation), 2 small amps, a Boss RC-500 loop station pedal, a music stand to read the tabs from my printed TAC lessons, and my note books where I file all my past TAC lesson tabs, and music theory notes. My routine starts with setting my timer (to keep my lesson routine on track), then I tune my guitar. I start with 2 minutes of finger warmups, 20 minutes doing the TAC daily lessons, then 5 minutes reviewing the weeks daily lesson that I want to improve on. Then I take a 5 minute break. After break I work on chords, chord changes and strumming for 5 minutes, 2-5 minutes doing scales and then I work on learning a song till I am gassed.. Usually my practice last about an hour. |
