Why I'm Here

Well,

I’m a 42 year old father of 7, soon to be 8, (3 boys and 4 girls) ages 15 and down. I’m a Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology RN in western NY. I love my family, fly-fishing and playing guitar and ukulele. I actually have more and better ukes than I do guitars, though Id like to upgrade mine soon. Have and old Yamaha FG700S that I bought about 16 years ago; It’s been trough the ringer, but I’m still using it, as its all I have right now. I have really been enjoying TAC and learning a lot. I got into this to try and help my kids learn and  appreciate playing music as part of their homeschool curriculum, plus I never took the time to really learn the instrument when I was younger and I’d like to remedy that. I have been pleased thus far with the content and feel like I have already been improving in skill and knowledge from the beginning.

City

I waisted a lot of time when I was younger and never gave my full attention to learning an instrument that I really do enjoy. I guess part of the importance I have placed on learning has to do with wanting to challenge myself to focus and gain an intimate understanding of the guitar…I've always had some tune in my head and I'd like to actually be able to bring that out though the voice of a guitar. I see it a lot like fly-fishing, once you get hooked, that's it; your on a lifelong journey to understand how to perfect that art.

My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

I really want to concentrate on the fretboard and related theory. I’ve been through FBW already, but I feel like I want to dive in a lot more. My goal is to have a more solid understanding of how to create music of my own.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

In a perfect week, I’ll play every day for about an hour. In a real world week, I play around 4- 5 days. The times vary depending on mood, level of fatigue and inspiration level. On any day that I do play, I play at least 15-20 minutes minimum. I feel like, for the most part, it’s a pretty consistent routine.
