Do not fear the D chord. My problem is the C chord. You are not alone. I just keep plugging along, but it slows my progress, so I watch the daily challenges and try them to see if they help with my troubles, which, most times, they really do. Short fingers unite LOL

Thank you for your input, and just a point. I took my guitar to a repair shop because it did not sound right. I found out my string bridge was set too high, and the strings were lowered, thus improving the need to force the strings to make the right sounds.

Well, my guitar needs repair, so I am getting it restrung simultaneously. When you feel that something is off, go with your gut.

Do not feel alone. I am having the same issue. Right now, I am trying to build up my finger calyces so my fingers do not hurt as much. one string at a time. Now, with this idea, I can get to the top E. I hope this will help to arch my fingers better.

I feel for you, Big Jim. I am also frustrated, but my frustration is coming from Barr chords. My fingers are on the thick side and short. They do not want to form the shape, but, like everything else, practice, practice. My regular chords are now improving thanks to Tony’s lessons. Strumming is coming to get you, but it is exciting progress. Just keep on picking and a grinning. Good luck.

That was helpful. I set the meter to tune in C and got my F# sweet. Thanks for the help.
