I am so sorry to hear of your difficulties. It’s admirable that you are persevering in the face of such a challenging situation. Many of us here are up in years and vulnerable to life changing events. I hope that I would have the will to continue after experiencing something like that. Good luck to you, sir.

This song as sung by the Lettermen was one of my favorites when I was young and starry-eyed. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

I’m glad you brought this up. Every course I have taken starts with basics and gradually increases the difficulty as skills improve (not just music but education in general). This one seems to throw beginners into lessons that are really kind of over their heads. Judging from the comments I see that other students are in their 2nd or 3rd go-round on the same lesson I am taking right after the 30 day challenge. I am also confused as to how this is supposed to work.

I have noticed improved speed the last couple of weeks so whatever you all are doing seems to have helped. Keep up the good work.

MemberFebruary 6, 2026 at 3:51 pm in reply to: Is there any full songs to learn on this site?I took lessons many years ago. I was taught how to read music (no tabs back then). Each week I was given a song sheet and learned how to play it. I learned a number of songs that way until the course was over. But, and this is a big but, if you took that sheet away from me I was still totally lost. I had learned to play sheet music but I still hadn’t learned how to play the guitar. So I think Tony’s way of teaching technique is much better. Applying that technique to play any song is going to be light-years ahead of just reading and playing a sheet of music. I hope that makes sense.

I prefer paper too. For me it’s easier than looking at a computer screen, but you really do need a music stand to make it work. I make notes and annotations on the paper such as pick direction. I wish the pick direction was printed on the tab. It would make things a lot easier.
