My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

1. I want to be able to change chords faster. It’s really stunting my ability to play songs.

2. Finger pick, finger, pick fingerpick. I really want to improve. Specifically, I want to be able to pick out patterns and change chords. Basically: left and right hand continuity.

3. Work on my soloing techniques.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

I usually play every day. I have a room dedicated to music. I would like to play around the same time each day. That part is not consistent at all.

Why I'm Here

A little about me: I was born in NY, but moved to California half way through high school. I spent ten years in the Marine Corps and ten years working for FedEx. I went back to school to become a teacher. I’m married with a daughter, and we currently live in Switzerland as Expats. I bought my first guitar in 2004. I wanted to learn to play, but life kept getting in the way, and I really wasn’t committed to learning. I started getting focused January,2019, and I joined the TAC community the following month. My guitar journey really didn’t start until February 1, 2019. Since then, I’ve practiced almost daily, with breaks for vacation, family stuff and things like that. I have an appreciation for just how hard it is to learn to play, but I also take comfort in the daily improvement. I thought that I would be able to play songs by now. My brain knows what I want my hands to do, but they are not cooperating with the speed and precision that I would like. I now realize that this is a journey without a final destination; moreover, it is the journey itself that brings me joy on most days.
