I can’t quite recall since it was so long ago for me, but I’m sure it was much longer than two months before I could do both at the same time. It only gets better from here!

Congrats! I haven’t tackled that one yet, but lookin’ forward to it. Keep up the good work.

Depends on the venue for the open mic. I take my guitar and my Yamaha THR10 amp which I use the Acoustic setting on. My guitars have a pickup but they (venue) mic my amp so I imagine they could just mic the guitar instead. Get there early and find out who the sound guy or gal is. I’ve found them to be very helpful.

Have you tried the “Daily Stretch for Guitar” in the Skill Courses section? That might help since it focuses on the entire body. Your pain might be coming from somewhere else like your neck or shoulder. That’s what I was able to realize. I’d try that before the Dr. route. As Loraine indicated, stop if you are feeling any pain. If it’s just stiffness you can continue, but pain means stop.

Some days are definitely better than others. I’ve also learned that even when it feels like you’re not improving, you actually are. It just shows up on a different day in the future when that lick you were working so hard on suddenly isn’t hard at all. Keep at it, you’ll get there!

Try alternate chord shapes; that’s what I do. None of the B shapes are especially easy, but there are others that are more finger friendly.

Not quite ready for Prime Time, but one of these days I will. I’ll work on that lick that Tony played last week and post it soon. 😺

Bill, I highly recommend exploring more open tunings. I was stuck in open G since that was the one that was recommended for cigar box guitar. That’s how I got started with slide in the first place. Currently I’m looking into open E, which seems to be popular with guys like Duane Allman and Derek Trucks. I’m nowhere near that precise, but it is interesting to listen to.
I had a great time last week figuring out old songs like the Rolling Stones, Start Me Up. I forget what tuning it was, but it was a blast. The most FUN I’ve had in a long time!

What do you know, I learned something new today. I already knew I could favorite a lesson, but I didn’t know I could use other people’s favorites. Don’t know how useful it will be, but good to know. Thanks!

Yeah, but he usually show the Tuesday lick lesson that we’re working on, on AT show. That’s why I was hoping it would be slide all week. 🙃

I don’t currently have a 12 string Cadgirl. Haven’t been able to play one since I broke both of my wrists several years ago. For a time I was almost exclusively a 12 string player. That’s why I was thinking about that 9 string.

Yeah, I used that feature I told you about on my metronome that increased the speed gradually. Started at 80 and increased to 130 over 5 minutes.
