What size of guitar are you comfortable playing, what price range can you afford, etc. Personally I struggle to play a full size (dreadnaught) guitar, so I own a folk size Seagull (Canadian made, not sure if they are sold in Argentina) and a Taylor GS Mini, both of which I love and highly recommend. They both sell for well under $1000 US, and sound incredibly rich for their size and modest price range. Good luck on your hunt – as Jumpin Jeff says, the search is almost as much fun as the actual purchase😆

No guilt required, Mrfred! TAC is awesome for daily motivation, inspiration and community support, for sure. But there are plenty of other sites that also provide great instruction. Some of the ones I’ve joined turned out to be somewhat “over my head” at present, but offer lifetime access so I plan to eventually catch up🙂 Others are more suited to my current skill level, and are relatively inexpensive for what they offer. Even if I don’t manage to spend as much time as I’d like on studying them, I have gained some valuable guitar knowledge from all of them.

Victoria answered and said they are working on moving the link to a new place on the site, they’ll let us know when it’s up and running.

And here I am wondering whether I should pack my guitar along for an upcoming trip that will likely be in a pickup truck or my Dodge Caravan! Loving your determination!

Had the same issue earlier today. I sent a message to the TAC team, waiting for a reply.

Agreed, he is a superb interviewer and very interesting guy overall. When I first discovered him, I found him a bit off putting, somehow too intense or something. But after listening to a few of his videos, I now enjoy watching. YouTube is such an amazing resource!

If you’re playing consistently 4 times a week, and enjoying it, I don’t see a problem! One of my favourite things about Tony and his TAC program is how he keeps emphasizing the “having fun” part of guitar learning. Being a guy who lets himself get frustrated far too easily, I have slowly been absorbing this “mantra” and it is really helping me😃 Sometimes even just picking up one of my guitars and mindlessly strumming it can be very satisfying now. Sounds a little weird, I know, but I love it!

I’ve been thinking about this lately, too, as we’re going away for a few days at the end of September and it won’t be practical to bring a guitar along. But like you say, as long as those playing sessions keep adding up, the streak really doesn’t matter much. Sometimes I think it might be good to have a bit of a break then come back refreshed and redetermined😃

Welcome to TAC! I know exactly how you feel – I’ve been signing in every day for nearly 4 months now, and am just as enthused (if not moreso) about the program as when I started. I’ve read stories of members who have played hundreds or even thousands of sessions in a row, and they are still passionate about Tony’s system. I know it has been a big help to me in keeping more focused on my guitar learning. Plus it provides lots of encouragement on those days when I get a bit frustrated with the slow pace of that learning!

Love your story🙂 Especially the part about learning to change your own story rather than giving it control over you. That’s something I have long struggled with in my life, and you made me realize how helpful TAC has been towards overcoming that! I’ve only been a member for 3 months, but I know Tony’s program has finally given me some firm direction after nearly 4 years of “dabbling” at guitar. And yes, I agree with you how awesome the forums are for connecting with fellow geeks😄

Yeah last week wasn’t much fun for me either. But I’m still struggling to get consistent results from ANY barre chords, though I’m definitely making some progress lately. My trouble with those higher-up-the-neck ones is I just can’t squeeze 2 fingers onto those narrow frets – and I don’t have especially fat fingers. Maybe there’s a trick I don’t know about?😄 It’s like trying to play an A major chord with 3 fingers lined up – can’t do it. Fortunately there are alternatives down on the 2nd fret. Wish I could offer some magic solution, OldCoach, but at least I will share your frustration! (And hopefully those waves have receded by now)

Well, there you go setting such a fine example again, Mrfred! Of course I’ve been meaning to follow up on that idea for awhile now, but that old procrastination thing, you know! I don’t doubt recording myself regularly would be a big help to make some improvements on my playing – so hopefully someday soon I’ll actually get around to it😄 Good for you to be taking advantage of it already.

Welcome to TAC – I’m quite sure you’ll be very glad you joined Tony’s program! 🎸

Hello McD! I’ve been with TAC for about 4 months now, and have just lately developed a keen desire to start learning some blues music (and to buy a resonator, but that’s another story). Can’t help you with a list, but if by chance you’re interested in an online course, check out Udemy. They have a huge selection of guitar courses, including many focusing on blues music.

😆🎤 Hadn’t heard that one before! I know lots of folks think of karaoke as a bunch of drunks messing around at weddings, etc. But over the years since I started going, I’ve been quite amazed at the talent of some of the singers. Of course there will always be some who just have no sense of rhythm and probably never will, but they have fun. Others are not bad on their “comfort zone” tunes, but don’t often try something different. But I’d say 20- 30 % of the singers on a given night are pretty good, and a few are borderline pro talents. I really hope to get confident enough on my guitar to play and sing at open mics some day – but for now I get my singing “fix” at karaoke nights!
