That was very nice! Listened this morning and made me smile. Thanks for posting.

Ed M, I think it’s so cool that you recognize that playing two in a row as a small win. Easy to take for granted when we play multiple days in a row but each day we pick up our guitar is a win. Days in a row is a big win no matter the number. Keep it going!

Hey Sungreen, I’m happy for you glad to know you’re taking Fretboard Wizard. Easy to feel overwhelmed but just know that the information presented is designed to give you a basic understanding of music theory and some knowledge of what constitutes a chord and where they come from. Once you know the notes in any key are arranged in whole and half steps as WWHWWWH, a chord is constructed with the notes from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th degrees of that scale. If you were writing it down you would create 3 lines with the 2nd line starting with the 3rd note (degree) as taken from the first line and the 3rd line starting with the 5th note (degree) as also taken from the first line. The corresponding 3 note combinations under each degree are the three notes that make up those chords. No real memorization involved. This exercise is informational in a way to help you visualize and understand how chords are created.
FW opened up my eyes and made sense of the bits and pieces of what I thought I knew about music. It kind of lit a fire to make me want to learn and know more. There is so much to know in music but all the essential elements are in this course to give you a firm foundation for your guitar journey. It’s important to just enjoy the experience and knowledge you gain as you are able to absorb it. So much of it will make more sense over time. Congratulations on taking to course and have fun!

Hey @SherryH, that was very nicely played and sounded very pretty to my ear! Great stretch to hold those notes to ring nice and clean.

@Deanne It’s a lovely story that rings so true. It’s exciting to recognize your progress when you don’t realize it’s happening. Keep going. You’re gonna love FW!

Your playing is excellent and your voice is wonderful! You are an inspiration. And yes, that new guitar suits you well!

@Dimebag I think you might want to try some some adjustment to the position of your fretting hand. Try rolling your hand just a little under the neck when you are fretting your chord(s). This will position your fingers out away from the strings and allow your fingers to make contact using your fingertips more directly on top of the string at your desired fret. This should avoid some of the muting and eventually the buzzing too as you land your chords more cleanly where you want them to be. No need to press too hard. A lighter touch may be all you need. Good luck working this out. Somehow eventually you will get it. 🙂

That was great @Dan D#! Played along so nicely with the rhythm. Gave me some idea what’s possible.

The link worked! Thanks. Also having problems to bring up today’s challenge (or any challenge). The rest of the site comes up fine. Nice backdoor solution.
