I started with a Yamaha FG700, and it’s my favorite acoustic. I purchased a Taylor ES10, but got it home and found it didn’t sound as good as my Yamaha! I ended up returning the $800 Taylor, favoring my old go-to.
I also treated myself to a Variax electric (A Yamaha Pacifica with Line 6 modeling hardware) I can make it sound like a Martin, a Gibson, and even a 12 string! Then back to it’s Strat or Les Paul sound when I want to play some rock. You can even dial in alternate tunings…what a fun toy!

Why not ask in the upcoming live? I’ll be out on a cruise, but will attempt to join. It would be nice if the daily challenges were archived somewhere, for those of us who recently joined TAC.

Nicely done!

Thank you Loraine, I take in every little piece of advice like a sponge. Everyone who’s offered even a little bit of advice/support has not gone unnoticed. I seem to be in a good grove now, and am really enjoying TAC.

I’ll have to come back to it, I’ll be on a cruise.
Thank you for the information.

Thank you, I think that’s the habit I’m getting into!

At least it’s good for muting the low E. (This will come in handy for Hendrix chords, lol)

Great resources…I have no idea whether I have big hands or not, but my thumb always wants to wrap the neck, which I believe contributes to “buzzy” chords.

I have the same question. I’m just learning solos (but it’s not that important at this juncture) I’ve learned the “E” scale, and am familiar with the “A” pentatonic, but solos still confuse me.

The thing which helps a lot are the “in between” lessons, like the stretching exercises. I look forward to sitting down with my coffee every morning, watching the lesson, then playing along. I look forward to the next 90 days.

The 30 day course, and what comes after are done at such a great pace, you CAN’T fail! I searched many teaching/lesson sites and apps (even took in-person) and find this one really fits my learning style (I’m ADHD…squirrel!). Always remember…”slow is smooth, and smooth is fast”.
