What I'm Focused On Now

I’d like to break out of my routine. I’d like to learn a few new finger-picking patterns and become proficient at them. I’d like to become a better strummer. I’d like to learn to use a pick and play individual notes between chords (walk-downs and such), I’d like to be able to have accuracy with both my thumb when doing fingerpicking and with a pick, I’d like to learn Travis picking (I’ve been working on it, I can do the thumb on the downbeats pretty much without thinking about it, but when I try to add melody note on the fills I get all wonky…)

My Guitar Routine

I play almost every day. But I miss days sometimes when life gets busy. In a perfect week, I wouldn’t miss days. I currently mostly play in the kitchen/dining room at the table, sometimes in the bedroom. I have a space that is in development (my new shop that is dedicated to guitar building and playing) that should be ready by the end of the year. That seems a better space to me than my random places now. But in the meantime, I’ll be at the dining room table. I will mostly play in the mid-day time frame, this is when I can find 10 to 30 minutes each day.
