Why I'm Here

Played guitar since 6th grade (when it got me out of piano lessons).  Played quite a bit in high school and college, but not a tremendous amount in the years afterwards until moving to the Bay Area and discovering it’s rich music scene.

Joined our church group which got me playing and practicing regularly and have now added a number of folk and bluegrass jams and even a few open mic’s.

Now, with the kids both out of college and their loans paid off, it’s time to pay off the GAS bill.  I purchased my first instrument in 35 years, a 2004 Taylor 455 12-String.  7 months later Taylor came out with a matching 410e-R LTD dreadnought.  Same satin finish indian rosewood back/sides.  1 month later I discovered Taylor’s baritone 8-strings JUST in time for them to begin producing one again.  Uh oh…

City

Playing at the same level and the same material is so limiting.  One way to keep the excitement level up is to keep pushing myself past previous limits.  That includes learning to play better and also forcing myself to get over my hesitancy to play solo.
