@Fletch : “Nova” 🎸🎤🎧🎻😀 is cool, sorry…a bit of an oxymoron. It is the first of your tunes I felt like I wanted to dance. Think of me as one of those (~):-> dancing bears. 👏👏

Additionally, Good collab Steve and Fletch.

Hi @quinner , welcome to TAC. Not sure how I would have navigated the last two years without music/guitar. I venture to guess it would have been way worse for me.
No worries about the one year mark. Just make sure you take the guitar off the wall or outta the case or outta the corner and have some fun with it every day. Tony is a great guide and just messing around with the lessons without having to think about how to guide myself in the right direction has kept stagnation at bay. Have faith in the process: it has worked for me better than I could have imagined. I used to try to figure out the method to the madness but that only got in my way. Now I just do it and enjoy the heck outta every pluck, pick, and strum.

Loraine nailed it with picking up on the wrist roll. This is not plucking the individual string with each finger as much as it is thinking of it as one pluck but staggered, one wrist rolling motion. Took me about ten hours when I was first introduce to the technique to get that fluid staccato sound.

I don’t use the metronome in the learning phase but I use it in the practice phase starting what sometimes seems painfully slow and then speeding up. Then I use it sometimes in the playing phase to change it up challenge my mind. I will calibrate and turn it off then calibrate and turn in off again. I use the Matrix MR-600 with the dial. One of the other things I do with the metronome is play a recorded song and work the metronome with the recording to understand what is fast and what is slow. It also is useful to determine what temp favorite artists are play a given song.
It was super tough for me to use it at first but It is the key to playing with others so I fixed my determination and stuck with it until it became as comfy as a security blanket.

Nice win @Everett A time in the saddle = success. I have fallen off but have learned to get back on without thinking about it.

You are right does nothing to fix your problem with the tabs. I probably should have been quiet since I have no experience with Tabs. No argument, just other strategy. Apologies @Geordie

Oooh Ahhh, I like that description of peeling. Peel the fingers as you (micro) roll the wrist. @Carol-3M-Stillhand you are a light in the fog.
