| Why I'm Here | I have played guitar on and off for well over 50 years now. Unfortunately, mostly off! I started about the age of 11 and played through high school and into my first year of college. Guitars were put down to pursue other interests and starting a business. (Photographer) I bought two guitars and two amps in my late 30’s to start getting back but without a focused plan, it lasted only a few years. When I turned 60, I got serious about learning. I started lessons with a friend who is an established guitarist, singer, songwriter. (Two Grammy nominations!) We got together once a week for an hour or more and basically worked to learn his songs, discuss music theory, and work on my technique. Then I discovered TAC in December of 2019. And the journey continues. Currently I own 8 guitars, 4 electric and 4 acoustic. They include a vintage 71′ Gibson SG and vintage 73 Gibson EB3 Bass, an Epiphone Sheraton II and a highly modified Fender Strat. On the Acoustic side, a 1971 Epiphone 12 String, An inexpensive Fender, A Martin DX1 and a new Martin SC-13e. I have a vintage Fender Super Reverb, a vintage Fender Bassman, a small Vox practice amp and a Marshal Code 50 modeling amp. I’m also the caretaker of my Son’s Fender Strat and Epiphone Les Paul. But most of my time these days is spent with my Martin SC-13e. There are two things that motivate me on this journey. First, my love of music and the joy of playing and getting better. The other is the desire to learn new things. To keep my mind active and hopefully growing! |

My Guitar Goal
| What I'm Focused On Now | My goals for July through September are to play every day, learn at least 4 more songs by the Beatles and improve my finger picking skills by completing the finger piking skills set inside of TAC. |
My Guitar Routine
| This is How I TAC | My guitar routine is to play every day. During the week I generally do my first session after work around 5pm. This is when I spend 15 minutes on warmups and do my TAC lesson for the day. It often expands to an hour or more. I do this practice in my home office in front of a large computer screen. On weekends the practice session is usually mid day and I review the previous week’s TAC lessons and then move on to learning new songs. Also in my home office. Several times a week I will do a second session in my guitar/music room. This is always a mix of playing along with recordings of songs I know or are learning and just some free form time to see where my fingers take me. |
