Hey Gene, Is that a Zager ZAD80CE, if so what do you think of it, do you like it?
-
Hey Chuck I somewhat agree, but to support their cause the reason is that the new packaging provides a non corrosive enviroment in a sealed package. Fortunately for me I have the tools and the know-how to figure out who goes where, I will continue to use their product.

Yes it is, even though I’m still learning lol

Good evening AI.E, I recently bought a used Zager guitar a ZAD80CE, in unbelievable flawless condition black with the Fishman Aura Pro on board electronics. I did quite a bit of research read testimonials and sound comparisons against a 50 year old Martin D28, you could not hear the difference. What made want to try one is their hipe of being “Easy Play” I’m also am running Santa Cruz low tension strings on it and I have to say I am very pleased with it, the action is low, no buzzing, all I did to it was change the strings. I tend to grab it over my Martin, but time will tell how it ages. They also have a 100% money back guarantee, if you don’t like it they will refund 100% of your money as well as pay for shipping both ways. Here’s a picture of it. Good luck.

Hey Kurt from what I’m told, click on start challenge, and then on the left you see them, you cannot move ahead but the past ones are there, but they are only there for the current month. You can also favorite them and then they will be in your favorites forever, hope that helps.

Hey there @speck, just a quick thought, do you have an inspection mirror? If you do have a look inside the sound hole and make sure the the ball end of the strings are right up against the bottom side of where the bridge is located, wedged by the bridge pin.

Hello there “speckpgh” not sure if this is the root of your issue, but I have a couple of high end Martin’s where when I purchased them at times there was a weird twang while picking the open high E and B strings, I tried everything, changing strings, adjusting the action and adjusting the truss rod. Nothing worked until I started looking into “humidity” guitars have very thin woods and depending on your geographical location it could be a factor. I purchased a humidity meter and a humidifier, checked with the manufacture and boom issue went away. Hope this helps

Good morning Kristin, Good to know, maybe I’ll try them on my dred, I’m also kind of leaning towards not liking the sound the SC low tension ones give on my 000-18, might go back to the Martin lights on that one. Thanks, have a good day.
-
Thanks Chuck, I’ve had them on both the 000-18 and the D-13E almost a week now, They sound good, you know the saying if it’s not broke don’t fix it lol. Kristin, that’s interesting that you have low tension on your Dred, I put mids on mine, I still have some light Martin ones laying around so they will get used up before any more purchases.
Thanks a lot

I agree with ya Jeff, I had a hard time coming off the hip for them, They are good strings, I’m told they will last 6 months, we’ll see, not sure they will be a regular diet, whereas I can get Martin strings locally at a third of the price.

Lovin em so far, they hold tune, and I guess the quality of the guitar helps out too. I’m fortunate to have the means and the know how, it was just a heads up to the average bear. Thanks Loraine…………….Rock on

Thanks guys, I welcome all the education I can get. One thing I did hear from a couple of sources Mike is that strings need to have a decent fall from the saddle to the bridge pins to ensure good tone, Have you heard that?
Rock on guys!

Hey there Tailsawaggin, what kind of strings are those in your pic?
