My Guitar Goal

What I'm Focused On Now

Learn the fretboard and how to move up and down the neck efficiently and melodically

To continue to be challenged to learn new skills via song

To be able to play with other musicians and friends of all levels.

I want to play both finger style and and with a pick (which is mostly what I have done). To that end, I want to learn “Sweet Baby James,” (James Taylor), “Can’t You See,” (Marshall Tucker Band), and “Harvest Moon” (Neil Young)  in finger style.

For flat picking, I will continue to do daily warmup exercises focusing on using the alternate picking technique.

My Guitar Routine

This is How I TAC

I try to play 5-6 days per week. I try to play for a minimum of 30 minutes each session, however, some days I get in only the minimun 15-20 minutes. I just saw Bill Brown’s routine of playing open tunings or drop D on weekends and am going to try to incorporate that into my routine.

Mostly play afternoon or evenings as mornings are usually pretty full with swimming, dog walks, and errands.

Play in living room with a window view of the Tordrillo Mountains looking across Cook Inlet.
