Why I'm Here | I’ve always wanted to learn how to play music but never seemed to have the time or made it a priority. Being an empty-nester I’ve made the decision to enjoy this part of my life to the fullest degree and learning how to play the guitar has become my obsession and favorite thing to do, besides swimming. The thing I struggle with most is confidence and dexterity. I have gained a lot of knowledge regarding music theory, learned loads of open and bar chords, and can strum along with others if I have the chord sheet to the song. I’m finally starting to enjoy the TAC lessons more since the new format. Maybe I’m just getting better too. 🙂 |

My Guitar Goal
What I'm Focused On Now | I am now playing with a Praise Team at church every week. I want to be able to bring some pizzazz by way of electric guitar fills and some rhythmic acoustic guitar accompaniment. <>< So I continue my guitar journey swimming upstream. <><

My Guitar Routine
This is How I TAC | I pick up a guitar every day. I have both acoustic and electric guitars begging for attention constantly. If I haven’t made it to my music room by 10 a.m. I will log in to TAC by 7 p.m. at the latest. After completing the daily challenge I usually look for other Skills from this website to learn more technique. Then I do some fretboard finger pattern exercises, review G major scale positions, practice some Pop/Worship songs, sometimes loop some chord progressions, then noodle over it using pentatonic scales. Often I’ll study music theory, review chord shapes and strumming techniques. My downfall is I end up looking at other websites and overwhelm myself with more stuff to learn. I can easily immerse myself in guitar stuff averaging 2 hours daily for 5 days a week. My goal is to narrow my focus and take my time to get really good at few things at a slower pace. God help me! |
