About Me

I grew up in a musical family. Music has always played an important role in my life. I played in the family dance band with my parents and brothers starting in 7th grade. I majored in music education in college and have been a music teacher at a middle school for many years. I joined TAC because while I have a strong background in music, I am a clarinet/saxophone/flute player. After years of teaching general music and band, my new duties now include teaching guitar. This is actually my 3rd year doing it. I pretty much have the beginning book memorized and I want to go beyond the basics and become a true guitar player. While I wasn’t sure about teaching this class at first, it has become my favorite part of the day. Playing guitar has become my stress relief.  I was excited to find this program and I think it is just what I need!
