About Me

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and have been living in Virginia for the past 30 years… sometimes I still get culture shock, but that’s ok – it makes me laugh at myself – still trying to lose my “city-girl” ways.  I learned to play mostly by pestering the musicians I met hanging out at the fountain in Washington Square Park in NYC and from long-suffering friends. My first guitar was one step above a plywood cigar box, second was a Goya Classical (my first love was Flamenco). My third and fourth guitars were Martins: D-28 circa 1971 (both were later sold) and a little OOO. I just parted with my Washburn Presentation Parlor Guitar -R312 and purchased a 1971 Martin D-28 (to replace the earlier one) and I also have an Ibanez AW200. So a small collection of just two guitars, but just right for me for the time being.
