I’m wrapping up month 2, and I’m just now being introduced to the power chords. My fingers won’t even form the chords.

I’ve been at this for 13 days now. I’m stuck on playing a clean “C” chord. I still go back to the Blues section, since I haven’t come close to playing that well. My personal opinion is that you should go at your own pace and do what feels right to you. This isn’t a sprint. If it takes me 60 days to play what others do in 30, so be it. -
When I first learned the G, I was taught without using my pinky. I learned it with my ring finger on the high E, third fret.

I feel your pain. I’m struggling with the same issues-arthritis in my wrists and stiff fingers. I’m just now picking up my guitar after God only knows how long it’s been. Back in my youth, I had no trouble reaching any 3-finger chords that I knew. I could play C, G, G7, and D7 pretty well. I never played with my pinky. But, now I’m struggling mightily reaching the C, G, and G7 with 3 fingers.

I’m new to TAC. I purchased a used Yamaha FG800 a while back. I’m not sure how old the strings are, but I’m thinking I’d like to start off fresh with new strings. I’m looking for recommendations for strings that will enhance my learning experience.
