Jeff, I completely agree with you. I joined TAC because it took me forever to learn a new song which required skills that were a little ahead of where I currently was. I think TAC has helped me in this regard but now leaves me making smaller incremental improvement. I find myself not going through the lessons for the week but instead just sitting down and playing the song that’s highlighted. If no song then I just work on something else entirely. I think I am not going to renew this year. I think I will make faster and more targeted progress from self direction. Sad to say.

I travel quite a bit, and sometimes do it on a motorcycle. I recommend checking out a carbon fiber guitar. They are awesome for being immune to heat, humidity and rain. I have several. The one I use for motorcycle traveling does not sound as good as an expensive guitar but it is still fun to play and more than that is easy to practice on or “play around a campfire” without having to treat it gently. I think they sell some on amazon now. I also have a Mcpherson sable (carbon fiber), which if I could only have one guitar, this would be it. A joy to play. Check out used guitars you may find one you like. I just realized that I am playing one in my profile pic which is at the top of Mt Lassen (a 2 week motorcycle trip my wife and I took ).
