Why I'm Here

Am working hard to control my desire to own only 2 guitars. Currently a Yamaha classical and The Loar. The first to protect my fingers as I started to learn to play and the second because I wanted a guitar with a fuller sound and steel strings. Both are fun to play and the sound meets my personal requirements. And pocketbook. Once I become more proficient I’ll most likely buy a custom guitar from a local luthier or a Martin, Taylor, Gibson guitar.Who knows? Right now am dreaming about an electric acoustic…… Guess that makes me a guitarista at heart.

I Have been taking group lessons through our Area 10 Agency on Aging…… A bunch of us oldies attacking our bucket list to play guitar. So far so good. Been learning for a little over a year and a half now. I became interested in TAC when it debuted last year and I was stuck in bed with a very bad back for over 8 weeks. Fortunately surgery took care of the problem. Tony was beyond my capability at the time due to the back issues and recovery time and I struggled with the course material. Now, I’m ready to give it a good try and get the basics down solid. Learning the  fretboard is a priority as my dream is to finger pick….not just play chords. Maybe create my own solos and riffs…..let the music speak to me and through me.
