Sportster-
That is no SMALL win.
Think about that for a second. You thought it through, had an idea and thought-process of what might improve it- on the spot- on the fly- and gave it a go. And it worked.🙂
May not seem like much to you- but I think that’s a ****REALLY**** good ability to have!
There’s a whole lot more went on there than you give yourself credit for.

Pinski-
Congratulations- Happy 1st!
“Well played” on your post! Along the lines of what Jeff said- FOCUS is the key for me also.
On an Acoustic Tuesday awhile back, Tony talked about “The Five Best Guitar-playing Mantras”.
Well- as part of my own routine, I write down- (the day before)- what I want to practice each- (next)- day, and always include the word in capital letters- “FOCUS”. Every day. And I read those 5 mantras also. Every day.
Seems like a lot- but it only takes about 15 seconds…….. and it kind-of “sets my brain straight”.
Again- inspiring story, congrats, and thanks for sharing.
Fellow dabblerosis survivor. (But I do suffer an occasional setback😉 just for fun)

Albert–
Great stuff, there! Reading your post and watching the video is very inspiring.
Can’t help but notice you are very comfortable in your “guitar-shoes”, and seem really at-ease in your playing and singing.
That’s the stuff that I want to be able to do- (likely ALL of us want to do!).
Thanks for your post. Thanks for your video.
Again– Great stuff, there.

MrFred-
Don’t sweat it- tomorrow is another day🙂
-
Kitman–
Nice job- fun to watch!
Like MrFred said- that’s ways off for me still. I never have done much if any of the “improv” stuff like that. Don’t know why- just haven’t.
Watching your video post is gonna change that. It looks challenging, nerve wracking, and fun all at the same time! So the music acts as metronome to keep you in time also(?)
Thanks for sharing-

Hey all– lookin’ for some advice from the “been-there-done-that”s out there– is the “Foundations of Fretboard Navigation” course- (in the TAC “Skills Courses” section)- a good place to get primed for the Fretboard Wizard course. Any other places to look?
Not in a big hurry, not knowing when the new version will come out- but I want to be competent going in. I can work thru it slow.
Thanks-

Thanks for sharing. Good stuff, great song- (so fitting for the times here the US right now- did I say that?🤫).
Some people can whip them songs out while singing– like it’s second nature.
Not me… yet anyway.
I’m followin’ in your footsteps with the singing and playing- so far, for me, it hasn’t been pretty- except for pretty slow. Nowhere near having the guts to post a video……..
Love seeing your vids and reading your posts.

MrFred-
Great post and story- congrats!
I bet there is a pretty-good percentage of us here in TAC that have that same kind of story….. “bought a guitar 30-50 years ago- (with, of course, the absolute certainty “we were gonna be great”).
(I’ll interject a quick point that I’m sure ONLY applies to me😏— there were a few friends and lots of beer acting as fuel…… We weren’t any good- but it sure was fun!).
Anyway, like many- (sounds like)- we all “dabbled” off & on– mostly off– for all those years since, while our old guitars collected lots of dust.
And then TAC came along! Kinda re-started things, right?
I think it just hits the “sweet spot” for many of us- me included in the group.
Your post is great- thanks for sharing!

Mike-Jeff-Mike—
Thank you three all- for your insight and explanations— including the FretWiz-specific info— and also your personal-level opinions. I really LOVE reading the posts- and the answers- here in the TAC forum!
By reading the information, and also your own words, here in **this** thread- (as well as in other posts)- I’m realizing that I am clearly not very far along in the “guitar-learnin'” journey. My playing ability isn’t that great right now– but it is way ahead of my knowledge level.
The more I read and study, it seems sort of like walking up a mountain, without knowing how tall it is. The view will surely get better the higher you go, but also, you know that at some point, you’ll have to decide when the view is “good enough”.
I’m OK with well short of George Harrison.
What I DO know is that I don’t know much😜. And of course, I don’t even know how much I don’t know. (Wow- there’s a mouthful of nonsense).
So I guess the goal should be to enjoy the climb, and turn around all the time and enjoy the views from the places where I HAVE made it to. Focus on the fun, and not necessarily so much on the accomplishment(s) of reaching the top.
So I’m gonna go ahead and get the FretWiz program when it comes out, even though it sounds like it’s WELL “ahead” of me right now. I can get going, getting myself ready in the meantime. I don’t mind a good challenge– I have a tendency to run towards the fire🙄. Drives my wife crazy.

Me too- and like Jeff says- thanks for keepin’ it fun!– (recent examples- posts about drinkin’ QUITE a few beers as we goofed around with guitars way back when, and then also- (someone spending some money in Mexico😉🤫).
Wait– did I say “way back when”?
Fun interactions in here have a very important role in our overall journey!

Fred-
Old saying- “There’s a reason the windshield is bigger than the mirror”.
Maybe “go back to revisit” the lessons, sure, I think most everyone does that. But I certainly do it with a less-serious frame of mind as when they came out.
You don’t need to kick those tough lessons’ butts, your overall progress will automatically move your overall abilities right on by them.
Please forgive yet another old (coaching) saying– “Focus on forward”.

PS general message to all- If there is anyone who needs “old” Dailies, I have, in printed form, every one of the Daily Challenges from Jan 2021- (when I joined TAC), to today. I can scan and send any of those off, in email form, to you. PM me if interested.
-
Kitman- Speaking only for myself- I’m good.
I have deleted about a million takes of my own to get the 3 or 4 videos I’ve posted here in TAC.
I “feel ya'” brother.

Mike– Of course! You don’t even have to ask…..
I’m full of analogies- (been told that’s not the only thing)🤔.
