Have to agree with JohnWP. I’ve been doing this for the last 20 weeks and some lessons are easier to understand than other. I was getting bogged down in trying to be perfect and found that’s a bad trap to fall into. Hang in there with the forum. There’s a lot of nice people out there willing to help.

Don’t feel alone. I just finished take the quiz twice and still don’t know what questions I got wrong. Took the quiz a second time and got the same result. I’ll try and get in touch with the TAC website and see what they say.

Bill, Thanks for responding. It help make things more clear. Hopefully I’ll be able to put it to some use in the future.

Thanks for the response. It was very helpful. I’ll keep moving along.

Thank you very much for responding. I’m following what you’re saying a bit but then I have no music training background. I understand that moving the same cord down the neck changes the note and sound but I’m not sure how to relate this to anything. Maybe I’m overthinking this and should just push on and hope the light goes on down the road. Anyway, I appreciate the response.

I just followed what Loraine suggested and used my index and pinky on the E, 5ht fret and A, 7th fret to do it. It’s better than nothing. One of the things that I like about Tony’s instructions is that he’s open to letting you adapt to a whatever works approach. And at this stage in my life I’m not about getting my fingers to do the impossible. Good luck.

Moose, Thanks for the response. I think part of my problem is that I’m using an older guitar which I just found out is a Fender Chinese knockoff. I keep trying to make some progress but when I see Tony effortlessly hitting a string and it sounds nothing like my guitar I just want to give up. So I ordered a Zager 50CE mainly because Other people tell me it’s easier to play. Waiting almost a month for it to get here due to supply problems according to them. Another frustration. Thinking about trying other skill lessons until the guitar arrives. I want to be positive and hopefully this will help. Thanks again.

You must take Positive Pills when you wake up. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Thanks for the reply. I’m planning on going to a couple of guitar/music stores to try a few. However, I’m still fairly new to this process since I’ve only started 12 weeks ago. I’ve ordered a Zager 50CE which gives a 30 day trial to return and I hear are good beginners guitars. Have you ever heard of them? Also I don’t understand what “Action” means on a guitar. Could you please explain. Thank you.

Loraine, Again, thanks for your encouragement. I just finished watching this weeks Acoustic Tuesday Show and enjoyed listening to the words of wisdom near the end when the speaker talked about taking the 10 minute break and Tony mentioned making it a routine to keep practicing as you so eloquently stated. I will keep plucking away!

Appreciate that advice. Looking forward to giving it my best shot. I’m new so it won’t take much to impress me.
