Why I'm Here

I’ve played in bands in my teens and twenties playing alt rock, I stopped playing for many years, but in the past year have been playing a lot. I like a lot of styles of music, finger picking/bluegrass is pretty new to me. Favorite acoustic music at the moment is Kristian Matsson, Decemberists and I’ve always really liked Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews. There are a lot of bluegrass players where I live (Southern Oregon) and I think it would be fun to learn some of the standards and be able to jam along.

I need to justify all of the gear I've recently bought by playing it well:) , but really I just love music! I recently purchased a Gibson J-15 based on Tony's review and I love it! Best sounding acoustic I've ever owned. I also have a Recording King R-35 and I've been learning some Earl Scruggs tunes, although I kind of wish I bought an open back version instead because I think I like that sort of dark playing style after listening more (like I said bluegrass is pretty new to me).
