Hi Peter I felt the exact same way when I started in October. Here’s my newbie take on thing, someone else correct me if I’m wrong. The first 30 day challenge is to get you to come in for 30 straight days. Or as close to it as you can. I don’t believe it is designed to get you to play. It’s designed to get you into the habit of wanting to pick up the guitar. I think of it as the honeymoon stage. You date your guitar for thirty days each day that you spend 10 minutes stepping towards what Tony presents is a Win. Collect wins. It’s about learning how to learn. Then the 5 daily challenges is the grace period. Tony shows you something and I try, best as I can to duplicate what he’s saying. (Usually on the slowest speed.) But that’s okay it’s not a race and it’s not my day job. (Thank God). Here’s the thing, my fingers are getting the desired callouses, my time playing the challenges of the day is getting longer. And as a bonus, If I’m not frustrating the crap out of myself I may actually start to see that I’m making progress. So if I can you can too. Stay with us. He’s a madman but I really like Tony’s process. My biggest difficulty is slowing down what I thing I should be learning and just enjoying the process. (That’s my story anyway, but I never wanted to play Cargnegie Hall anyway.) Good Luck.

Ya know I did the same. I’m wondering what that had to do with the VHS. but whatever. Give the Tech guys a cookie or something.

Hi Barbara, Thanks for the reply. I hadn’t thought of slowing down the lesson. I was so busy trying to follow him that I just got frustrated. Add to it I absoutely love this song and so want to play it well. Although, the Monday lessons do go a little fast for my brain to catch up with. I will try the lesson again at a slower speed and see if I can follow along better. I’m knee deep into this (since mid October ’25 and have not gotten a Monday yet.) Of course, I am new to this, so there’s that.

    Thanks again,

Hi, Thank for that. I have saved almost everything LOL and I never would have thought to write the notes on the tab page. Also a very cool idea indeed. Thanks.

Thank you Pete I did today’s challenge and worked hard at trying to get the notes in my head. Even saying them out loud as I played. Slowly, very slowly it’s starting to come together. I did the G scale and then to finish strong I went back and did a few rounds with yesterday’s challenge. I starting to figure out if I slow my self down I do better.

    Thanks for the solid help.

Thanks for the kind words. It’s all beginning to make sense to me. Slowly, can see that the wheels are starting to think about grinding. Among the things I like most about TAC is that the concentration it takes shuts off my mind from racing. Who knew? Sure, I’ll get better but it is nice to have friendly people like me a few clicks away for support.

    Thanks so much for writting

Thank you!!! I’ve been watching Tony do this all week. It just didn’t click, or slap, if you will. LOL Can I piggy back how to do the next section. I can’t do bar chords yet so I’m totally lost trying the rest of it. I’m too new go get frustrated yet.

    Thanks
