| Why I'm Here |
I love listening to the acoustic guitar. I have recently retired and I have always wanted to learn to play it, but never had the time to commit to it until now. I knew a little about guitars because my boys learned on them. I had always dreamed of having a Gallagher guitar, the kind that Doc Watson played. I found a used one at Elderly Instruments and just couldn’t believe my eyes, it was beautiful. It was calling my name. I have nicknamed her “Olivia”, after Olivia Newton John. I had a crush on her in my younger days.
I am still a single dad with two in college and my youngest still in high school. As a retired electrical engineer I enjoy learning the technical aspects of music. I just wish my memory was better to be able to play a song without the tab sheet. I have mainly learned by watching various teachers on YouTube. I feel like I understand things quite well now I just don’t have the ability yet. My practice skills stink, I seem to wander a lot from day to day, and haven’t found a good path to follow. That is why I decided to join Tony’s Acoustic Challenge.

I would love to be able to play my guitar with my kids sometime. They are all extremely good musicians. Also it was a goal of mine to write and play a love song to my wife, unfortunately she passed away before I did. I still want to be able to write and sing her a song, and hopefully she will hear it. <b></b><i></i>
