    Welcome back @Tsuyako Sandy Dunn!

    You’re not going to get off that easily, you must tell us more about your journey. When were you here last, for how long?

    Perfectionism is your enemy, you must fight that plague with everything you got. Just show up every day and try to get a little bit better! Don’t measure yourself against other players. Everybody learns differently and it simply takes time. Don’t hesitate to ask questions here, plenty of TAC members who have gone through what you are right now and are willing to help you!

    If this issue is bothering you please report it to support@tonypolecastro.com. It bothers the heck out of me and I’ve reported it repeatedly. Here is the response I received:

    “Hi again Pete,
    It may help to understand that we do not have an in house IT Team. We employ a Company. As such, we are not able to bring issues to them that are not affecting – if not the entire TAC Community – at least multiple users. Otherwise, we are advised of troubleshooting options, as they do monitor all aspects of the site for us constantly. I hope this helps. I understand that it is frustrating not to have your posts go through consistently.”

    So their Tech Team apparently monitors the site but they don’t test things like if a member can post or not.
    The IT Team monitors the site for technical issues, such as the site going down, Members not being able to log in, etc. They do not post comments.”

    Do you have the right too to check your action? Do you have a “ruler” something like this: https://down-th.img.susercontent.com/file/e9199aeed46061b5010eee2379d64516

    @BarbaraM

    I hope this video explains how I’m doing. I pluck with the thumb on the A and 3 fingers hooked under the D G B strings. I keep my hands in the same position and come back to hit the strings with my nails. I don’t have to move the hand much at all to hook into the strings again.

    I’m uploading a video right now. I am having to sit in an awkward position in order to get a good camera angle so one can see what’s going on. As a result, the execution isn’t the best and I’m not quite getting the desired sound.

    @JILLC @Berndog

    This is a known glitch (the “Tony Polecastro says” I’ve reported it to Tech several times and they choose not to fix it. Please report it to them, if enough people complain, maybe it will get fixed. There’s a workaround which I’ll post below.

      Many of us have experienced this! Thank-you for asking!

      This occurs in the comments area under the challenges and not in the forums. What happens is your first post is without any issues. When you go to add another, it won’t post and you might see a message box with the text:

      tonypolecastro.com says
      with an OK button in the right bottom corner

      There’s a work around:

      1. click ok
      2. copy your post into the buffer with the copy or cut function
      3. refresh the webpage
      4. paste in your comment
      5. try to post
      6. sometimes it still won’t post but you won’t see an error message box. Make a small change in the text (add punctuation or a word). Now it should post for you!

      Support is aware of the issue but says it isn’t affecting enough users to warrant having their IT team correct it. I have chatted with Victoria a number of times about this to no avail.

    @ted1018gmail-com

    That’s the folk G chord, a variation widely used and even taught in the TAC program. You may use whatever works for you. Sometimes you will use that particular shape in order to be able to make certain chord modifications in a daily challenge. It’s almost always feasible to use your preferred shape most of the time.

    What works for me is to keep the general shape of the finger picking hand but I curl the ends of fingers just a little more and when I slap I’m hitting with the flat part of my nails. I give it a quick hit, I try to get the strings to slap against the frets (not perfect with that but getting better) but now you have to slide your hand down just a tad and real quick to hook onto the strings make the next pluck.

    @Stuck just had another thought about this. On Monday’s Tony’s Daily Challenge usually starts off with him playing through the featured song of the week. He’s not going to play all the verses but he’ll do a verse, chorus and bridge sans vocals so that’s about the closest you’re going to get to a whole song.

    He really wants you to put all the parts together because there’s valuable learning in accomplishing that yourself. If you want to learn how to sing along, the 5* Hotel week has a good lesson on that. Go to the 6:00 mark of this video:

    You’re welcome @JonnyGee

    Please don’t interpret my posting of the video as the authority on how this should be done. I said above (right below the OP’s question) that I knew of a way that works for me. I think there are a bunch of ways to do it and I’m just offering up my method.

    Cheers! Keep on rocking!

    I have a tripod setup in my office specifically for recording guitar videos, but I have it kind of locked in as it comes through the wiring hole in my desk. In order to shoot that shot I had to straddle the corner of the desk and lean into the camera while trying to hold the guitar at the optimum angle. It was good for video but not so much for me as the player. I need to figure out a mounting setup that is more flexible so that I can record any angle I want. This has actually inspired me, @BarbaraM

    Thank -you!
