@BarbaraM if you have a smartphone and a YouTube(=Google) account, your phone will handle most of the techy stuff for you. Record yourself with the phone and then you hit share and select YouTube under the sharing options.
You need to be logged into Google (or Gmail account) for this to work. If you don’t have a Youtube (Google) account then you’ll need create one to be able save videos up there.
After the video is uploaded you can find the link for it and you copy and paste that link into your TAC forum post. You can drag and drop it too I believe, that is where the term “drop” comes from.
If all that is too complicated there is an easier way, you start by launching the YouTube app on the phone. Have the account and channel selected and then hit the plus sign at the bottom of your screen to launch video recording straight up to YouTube.

@JoeT and @DPC71 I approached Support about the Vidami pedal as well. I never bought one because I am learning primarily on TAC. I don’t really want to download and catalog all the play videos. I wonder why the TAC platform tends to be so non-user friendly in a lot of ways and they are not open to changing it unless a massive amount of people request it.
I know somebody posted in the Forum about a pedal that you can use with pdf files, but I wanted to have something that would control video playback as well and it had to work with TAC since I’m learning here.

You are doing well! I just wanted to point out that starting at the 52 second mark you start playing some things that aren’t on the TAB or in the PLAY video: it sounds like you are hitting the D string (which is fretting an E note) before you do the 3 string (DGB) pluck. I think you are trying to add the percussive plucks.
These are quite tricky and I was messing them up my first few times through this challenge. Try isolating just those few notes and looping through, that should help you get the technique down!
Always divide and conquer! When the whole TAB is giving you trouble, then break it apart into chunks and play just a few notes at a time!
Thanks for posting, keep it up!

MemberSeptember 10, 2025 at 7:00 am in reply to: Ain’t No Sunshine – (Monday) – Cloudy DayI really like it! The price was great and it’s actually cheaper now ($159) than when I bought it. Not sure how much longer with the Tariffs and now gobs of Chinese containers dropping into the sea out in Long Beach! The size is just perfect. I’m not small but hanging over a full size guitar is not as enjoyable as this nice midsize. The body is only 3 1/2” instead of 5″ thick which is a huge difference. And, even though it’s shorter, it only has 3 fewer frets than my full size. The cutout easily compensates for that by making frets 15 – 17 much easier to reach.
It’s a Donner Rising G1, with a mahogany body with a carbon top. I’m still using the factory strings and I have another set that came with it. The tone is really pleasant to me. I do have a small issue with it, that I have to iron out. There’s 13th fret is slightly low near the high E and B strings. I have to press the E extra hard to make sure it’s playing E and not F. But this affects very little of what you would normally play and I’ll figure out how to fix it eventually.

Support did respond about the stats:
Our IT Team just completed a few changes and upgrades to the site. One of these items was the streaks issue. It’s finally addressed but needs to settle out in the system. If you don’t mind, give it a few days to do this. We thank you for your patience in the meantime.

Thanks for your message earlier, I tried to give it a good reply but I didn’t even check to see where you are in your guitar journey. I might have answered differently if I had looked knowing the perspective that you are asking from. From the looks of things you are about a year behind me in TAC because I joined at the beginning of July in ’24.
Just take the weeks as they come. Those first 2 intro courses (30 Day & 5 Day) are foundational and build on what has been learned before. Not so with the Daily challenges where can enter anywhere, the weeks don’t build on the previous week, the learning is much more cyclical or circular if you will. You are correct, the difficulty from week to week may vary a great deal. But most weeks are layered where beginners can take the top layer and more advanced players can dig deeper.
It’s great that you have a rhythm background, that will help you a great deal since many of us didn’t have that foundation.

Hello Lisa,
I am Peter, have been a member for about 14 months and I spend a lot of time on this site, learning guitar and also helping others. Your questions are so basic and most of the answers are all available from the homepage of TAC.
Have you read through the Quickstart Guide?
https://tonypolecastro.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/TAC_User_Guide-v5.pdf
If not I would suggest starting there and then come back and ask more questions, I will look for your reply and give a response without delay.
About the 10 minute thing. Yes it is possible to learn to play with 10 minutes a day. But things will go much faster for you if you can devote a bit more than that. I think 20 to 25 minutes should suffice quite nicely, since there is a video to watch and action to take.
You could break things up, watch 5 minutes of video and then play your guitar for 5 minutes and be done for the day. Pick up again the next day and repeat. It would work but not totally practical.
As you advance through the 30 days and then the 5 Day intro courses, you will develop your own learning schedule. Personally I spend about 20-30 minutes every morning and I usually come back once or twice later in the day and often I’ll take one of my guitars and play it while I’m watching TV

I’m not sure @BarbaraM . BTW it’s 4 time through for me also. In the beginning the timing was crazy hard for me, but now it’s coming so much easier as I have learned where to place each finger when it’s just standing by waiting for the next move.
My focus has always been more on the percussive plucks than the “slap” which I kind of just did with a lot less thought. For me it just works, I rarely will push the strings down to hit the frets, the noise for me comes mainly from my nails hitting the strings. I don’t think it matters terribly much, the sound of the percussive strike is going to vary based on your instrument. 🙂

I remember my mom singing Clementine to me as a child!

I believe you may be overthinking the process a little. Tony will sometimes mention a song or songs in his introduction to the challenge and he may invite the audience to think of some songs where they have noticed the same feature he is describing. This doesn’t imply some magical association of each song in the challenge rotation.
What he teaches us day in and day out is to hone your skill the 5 aspects of guitar playing: Technique, Licks, Improv, Rhythm and Chord Progression. Once you have grown sufficiently in these areas it will be much easier for you to learn any song that you want to learn because you have learned the core abilities required.
The teaching isn’t so much song specific, although frequently the lessons are based on certain songs, the goal is for you to grasp how to apply what is being taught to other songs.

@JoeT exactly! I would buy the Vidami in a heartbeat if it worked on the TAC website. I’m not willing to download, store and manage all the videos.

Yes, I spoke about the “?” on the far left bottom. If you expand the menu it says “Support”. It still doesn’t get you to the chat support. That used be on bottom right (a yellowy orange square).

Yes, using the pinky finger is how I’ve been doing it. I posted a video in the benchmark progress forum.

I think a Fender thin would be 0.018″, or 0.46 mm.
0.08 is more than 2mm which is like a popsicle stick, lol!
