It’s a very good question that I think every one who starts TAC has, but not everyone asks. It will take some time for you to trust the process, but once you do your growth will be steady and come at quite a surprising pace because you can suddenly do things that you didn’t even know you could!

Thanks everyone for your feedback on my new guitar as well as for your kind words. I can be real and admit that there is massive room for growth which is part of the reason I put it out there.

I cried for days when Stevie Ray died, it was worse than John Lennon!
Nice groove!

I just noticed that this question was posted. It’s kind of in a spot where it’s less likely to get answered here in Tony’s intro to the Benchmark Forum.
I would answer YES and NO. Many weeks you will be learning techniques and chords that are in a popular song. As a new player, after a few runs through those challenges you will know enough to play through the song as you were taught the chords, the rhythm along with riffs and picking or strumming patterns. He won’t take you through the whole song in it’s entirety but he’ll do the verse, chorus and sometimes the bridge and usually give you several options of how you could play it depending on your level. Many have taken this and built it out to performing the whole song in the TAC forum.
But not every week features a song, it will vary. There are probably 2-3 songs per month.

Yes, there’s no reason to feel embarrassed for not being able to do something well! That’s why you are here is to learn!
Earlier on I found myself practicing for an hour before recording myself! NO! Record it early and raw right away and then in time when you can do it much better it will be that much more rewarding.
Why set the bar higher on your benchmark progress? Just set it right where you are at the moment! And maybe you try to compensate for being nervous recording yourself so you’re making even more mistakes and just trying to overcome that. Don’t worry, everybody understands!

Appreciate it! Yes, i am thrilled with this guitar, glad you like it!

Yes it was a bit of an early ride and I also just switched to attempting the barre chords, having practiced with the 2 finger B7 on fret 2 and D minor.

Thanks for your kindness!
